Cafe Roma is a gem in the heart of downtown Cleveland. If you’re craving Italian food in an intimate setting, look no further! Cafe Roma was opened in May of 2003 by Shannon and Christy Ritzhaupt. Shannon has been in the restaurant industry for many, many years at restaurants like Back Inn Cafe, St. John’s Restaurant, and the Bellagio in the Chattanooga area. Ritzhaupt gained a lot of knowledge working under the esteemed chef Tony Race of Naples, Italy. While working as head chef at Cafe Bella, Ritzhaupt found the perfect spot in downtown Cleveland to open his own Italian restaurant. Still in its original location at the corner of North Ocoee and 2nd St, Cafe Roma became the first fine dining experience in Cleveland with a selection of fine wine, white tablecloths, and soft music- not to mention a mouthwatering menu!

As natives of Cleveland, Shannon and Christy could think of no better place to open a restaurant. The couple has been married for 15 years with two boys, Jackson and Anderson, and are very active in the community. The Ritzhaupt family are members of First United Methodist Church located on North Ocoee St. In 2012, Shannon Ritzhaupt was named Bedwell Small Business Person of the year for his work with Cafe Roma and the promotion of all downtown has to offer.

The menu at Cafe Roma has something for everyone from freshly made pasta to homemade ice cream. Come for lunch, dinner, dessert, or even a private event! Though they will be rolling out the heartier fall menu, staples of the menu like Pollo Cafe Roma and Filet Mignon will remain. If you have time, treat yourself with a decadent dessert like creme brulee or pumpkin cheesecake.

Restaurant hours are 11 am-2 pm & 5-9 pm Monday-Friday and 5-10 pm Saturday & Sunday. Cafe Roma also has an outstanding catering menu just in time for your holiday parties!
